Quest Art Presents Canadian Artist John Hartman in Fundraising Speaking Engagement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 1, 2012 (Midland, ON)

Mark your calendars as Quest Art presents Canadian sought after artist John Hartman as part of its Fall Speaker Series.

On Mon. Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Midland Cultural Centre Hartman will speak about his current art practice.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in the Quest Art Shop.

The event also includes a reception and silent auction.

Hartman will engage the audience in a talk, which will be illustrated with a presentation of images, about his large scale narrative oil paintings from 1988 to the present, with an emphasis on paintings that use the landscape of the Midland area as a backdrop.

Born in 1950 in Midland, Hartman studied Fine Art at McMaster University. He established his reputation with the Painting by the Bay exhibition at the McMichael Canadian Collection in 1993, which included large-scale paintings of Georgian Bay and aerial views of the landscape.

The 45-minute presentation will conclude with a question and answer period.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous sponsorship from the Larkins Family Foundation.

This is a Quest Art fundraiser. Funds raised will go towards education and programming.
