PRESS RELEASE
May 16, 2013
One of the Southern
Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce’s objectives is a commitment to the community,
encouraging its growth and promoting business opportunities. For the first time ever, the Chamber has
collaborated with the local papers to create a contest that will encourage the
residents of the Southern Georgian Bay
area to return to its original shopping districts of Midland and
Penetanguishene in an effort to promote local spending.
This program
is designed to reward shoppers for every $20 spent at any of the participating
merchants advertised on the pamphlet/ballot and in the local papers. There will be a grand prize awarded of $1,000
spending money, in credit, to be spent at the same participating locations.
Both Midland and Penetanguishene will
have their own lucky shopper.
The contest will
run from May 27 to June 28.
The winners will be drawn on July 2, 2013, and will have six months to
spend their money.
There are a
total of 35 merchants from both Penetanguishene and Midland who have jumped on
board with this initiative and we are encouraging the community to support
their efforts. Pamphlets/Ballots are
available at any of the participating merchants and at the Southern Georgian
Bay Chamber of Commerce. A list of the
participating merchants may be found on the Chamber’s website www.southerngeorgianbay.on.ca or in the local papers.
Supporting
local businesses is essential to maintaining a healthy and prosperous
community.
